Men often have a need for psychotherapy, but we often don't think so. Why?

We are perhaps influenced by the culture we come from or maybe a message in our genes which says very powerfully,

" If I'm needy and vulnerable, I'm a loser and I won't survive. It's too humiliating to ask for help."

These kinds of messages are very powerful in our culture - to be macho & invulnerable. It's very difficult to overcome these messages and it's very attractive to pretend to be invulnerable. However this pretence of strength in the face of mortality, relationship issues, etc. creates a veil of illusion, preventing us from knowing what we feel and who we really are behind this impervious mask .

Jungian psychoanalysis can help to dispel this illusory and unhelpful "manly" emotional illiteracy.
